Aritificial Intelligence competes humans at poker

The poker software called Polaris developed by University of Alberta in Canada will compete against human opponents in Las Vegas, in 2008 world series of poker in Las Vegas. The maker of the program asserts that given long enough chance, there is no way the program will loose money, claiming that humans in the end will make mistakes...

Poker is not like chess of course, it involves not only calculation but involves many human traits. We will see the results and you can be sure tosee it here soon...

Robot fashion models

They might not yet be as pretty as human top models, but they sure are starting to penetrate in this profession too...The Hyogo Prefectural Institute of Technology in Japan developed this robot with materials found readily available anywhere...It goes for only $940 if you care to buy one...

Imitating robot hand

Okay, as we have just posted our welcome message, lets go straight into the business...

It looks like the barman and the barmaid of your favorite bar / club will be out of job soon (sadly - but I still do not think these can replace humans a 100% for a very long time)...You guessed - the robot barman is here...It looks like it already saves time and cost for the tasks it is required to do. Hello Everyone,

This is the very first post of the blog we created for roboticmagazine website, and as you might guess, we are very excited right now...
