Robots today and tomorrow

Today i was searching for something on the net about what type sensors a robotic vacuum cleaner might have...i finally found the useful information, after some fairly hard work, but it also made me think...if I looked for something about a cellphone, a tv screen a computer or an auto part...would i have to search this hard... the minute i hit enter at the search screen, plenty of good results would lay in front of my eyes...or, say when i visit a shopping site...not even a robotics category...and when you search for the term "robot", all you see is may be say 50 results on a major online shopping site, and half of it are just trivial or random results that contain the word robot in it with no relevance to a robot...if you search for the term "sensor", guess what is the first few result?? gilette sensor!!.... or... when i tell people that i am working for a website on robotics...the way they look at me as if I am working on some science fiction project...or the fact that humanoid robots are only found in the research labs or the shows for promotion purposes only, like honda's use of asimo...or...when we read a news story about the army using a robot somewhere, our immediate recall of the terminator movies...

Well...I will miss these times one day....And that day is approaching pretty fast...Not more than 5-10 years from now, I will find the robot search results more than of any other subject... There will definitely be robot shopping sections on shopping sites, and not only that, but also the prime sections of those pages will be covered with robot pictures. I guess I will miss these days....It feels like shouting in a huge sports arena built for a hundred thousand people, where only a handful of people are present and even if you whisper, everything is heard and your voice echoes...I guess these lines will echo to the future too....
